Process Improvement Capability

The process improvement capability is the process capability system which functions to realize operational process improvement, program/project improvement, service improvement and customer satisfaction.

The purpose of the process improvement capability is to enable and assure the abilities of the improvement of processes in the activities of the enterprise.

Process Improvement Management

Process improvement management is the process capability management of the process improvement capability.

The purpose of process improvement management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the process improvement capabilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.

Process Improvement Management Responsibilities

The process manager role is responsible for process improvement management of the process improvement capability.

Process improvement management work products include process improvement management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.  Specific examples are process improvement needs/requirements and process improvement plans.

Process Improvement Architecture

The process improvement architecture is the process architecture of process improvement management of the process improvement capability.

The process manager role uses the process improvement architecture to support process improvement management responsibilities and activities.

The purpose of the process improvement architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the process improvement capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.

The structure includes operational process improvement, program/project improvement, service improvement and customer satisfaction.

Process Improvement Architecture Responsibilities

The process architect role is responsible for architecting the process improvement architecture in support of the process improvement management responsibilities of the process manager role.

Process improvement architecture work products include process improvement architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses.  A specific example is process improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement Team

As shown in Figure 58 – Process Improvement Team Concept, process improvement is interconnected with and interdependent on integration and assurance, portfolio, data, configurations, records, information utilization, system abilities and service abilities.
