The organization capability is the enterprise capability system which functions to realize the lines of reporting and authority, the elements of the organization, organizational positions, titles, responsibilities and assignments.
The purpose of the organization capability is to enable and assure the ability to control the organizations and their responsibilities for the resources of the enterprise.
Organization management is the enterprise capability management of the organization capability.
The purpose of organization management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the organization capabilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
Organization Management Responsibilities
The enterprise manager role is responsible for organization management of the organization capability.
Organization management work products include organization management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.
The organization architecture is the enterprise architecture of organization management of the organization capability.
The enterprise manager role uses the organization architecture to support organization management responsibilities and activities.
The purpose of the organization architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the organization capability of the business, process, information, IT, technology systems and services is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
The structure includes the lines of reporting and authority and the relationships between the elements and resources of the organization and organizational titles, positions, assignments and responsibilities.
Organization Architecture Responsibilities
The enterprise architect role is responsible for architecting the organization architecture in support of the organization management responsibilities of the enterprise manager role.
Organization architecture work products include organization architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses. A specific example is an organization chart.
As shown in Figure 41 – Organization Team Concept, organization is interconnected with and interdependent on talent, roles, data, configurations, records, information utilization, system products and service catalog.
