Service Needs Capability
The needs capability is the service offering system which functions to realize strategic, tactical, asset, customer, user, mission, supplier, financial, improvement, program/project and all other stakeholder needs.
The purpose of the needs capability is to enable and assure the abilities of the needs of the service.
Service Needs Management
Service needs management is the service offering management of the service needs capability.
The purpose of service needs management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the service needs capabilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
Service Needs Management Responsibilities
The service manager role is responsible for service needs management of the service needs capability.
Service needs management work products include service needs management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.
Service Needs Architecture
The service needs architecture is the service offering architecture of service needs management of the service needs capability.
The service manager role uses the service needs architecture to support service needs management and activities.
The purpose of the service needs architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the service needs capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
The structure includes strategic needs, asset needs, tactical needs, supplier needs, financial needs, improvement needs and program/project needs.
Service Needs Architecture Responsibilities
The service architect role is responsible for architecting the service needs architecture in support of the service needs management responsibilities of the service manager role.
Service needs architecture work products include service needs architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses. Specific examples are mission analysis, stakeholder needs analysis, mission objectives, customer requirements, mission requirements, delivery concepts, environment definition, external interfaces and external constraints.
Service Needs Team
As shown in Figure 80 – Service Needs Team Concept, service needs is interconnected with and interdependent on governance and integration, markets, policy, data, configurations, records, information utilization, and system needs.
