System Needs Capability
The system needs capability is the system offering system which functions to realize mission, customer, supplier, user, and program/project and all other stakeholder needs.
The purpose of the system needs capability is to enable and assure the abilities of the needs of the system offering are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
System Needs Management
System needs management is the system offering management of the system needs capability.
The purpose of systems needs management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the system needs capabilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
System Needs Management Responsibilities
The system manager role is responsible for system needs management of the system needs capability.
System needs management work products include system needs management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.
System Needs Architecture
The system needs architecture is the system offering architecture of system needs management of the system needs capability.
The system manager role uses the system needs architecture to support system needs management responsibilities and activities.
The purpose of the system needs architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the system needs capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
The structure includes mission needs, customer needs, supplier needs, user needs and program/project needs.
System Needs Architecture Responsibilities
The system architect role is responsible for architecting the system needs architecture in support of the system needs management responsibilities of the system manager role.
System needs architecture work products include system needs architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses. Specific examples are mission analysis, stakeholder needs analysis, mission objectives, customer requirements, user operation requirements, mission requirements, operational concepts, environment definition, external interfaces and external constraints.
System Needs Team
As shown in Figure 73 – System Needs Team Concept, system needs is interconnected with and interdependent on governance and integration, markets, policy, data, configurations, records, information utilization and service needs.
