System Management Architecture
The system management architecture is the system offering architecture of system management of the system management capability.
The system manager role uses the system management architecture to support system management responsibilities and activities.
The purpose of the system management architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the system management capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
The structure includes systems engineering management, product development management and production management.
System Management Architecture Responsibilities
The system architect role is responsible for architecting the system management architecture in support of the system management responsibilities of the system manager role.
System management architecture work products include system management architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses. Specific examples are system engineering management plan, hardware, software and data development plans, system integration plans, system verification plans, system validation plans, system operations plans, sustainment plans, maintenance plans, training and manuals plans, system security plan and system safety plan.
System Management Team
As shown in Figure 78 – System Management Team Concept, system management is interconnected with and interdependent on enterprise management and integration, business management, process management, information management, IT management and service management.
