Telecommunications is equipment transmitting, emitting or receiving signs, signals, writings, images and sounds or intelligence of any nature by wire, radio, optical or other electromagnetic systems, products or other mediums of communication.

The telecommunications capability is the IT capability system which functions to realize telephone, mobile phone, and video capabilities.

The purpose of the telecommunications capability is to enable and assure the abilities of the telecommunications of the enterprise.

Telecommunications Management

Telecommunications management is the IT capability management of the telecommunications capability.

The purpose of telecommunications management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the telecommunications abilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.

Telecommunications Management Responsibilities

The IT manager role is responsible for telecommunications management of the telecommunications capability.

Telecommunications management work products include telecommunications management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.

Telecommunications Architecture

The telecommunications architecture is the IT architecture of telecommunications management of the telecommunications capability.

The IT manager role uses the telecommunications architecture to support telecommunications management responsibilities and activities.

The purpose of the telecommunications architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure the telecommunications capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.

The structure includes telephones, mobile phones and video conferencing capabilities.

Telecommunications Architecture Responsibilities

The IT architect role is responsible for architecting the telecommunications architecture in support of the IT manager role.

Telecommunications architecture work products include telecommunication architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses.

Telecommunications Team

As shown in Figure 70 – Telecommunications Team Concept, the telecommunications architecture is interconnected with and interdependent on integration, portfolio, data, configurations, records, system abilities and service abilities.
