System requirements are those things concerning the system that are necessary for the development and operation of the system.
System Requirements Capability
The system requirements capability is the system offering system which functions to realize functional requirements, physical requirements, non-functional requirements, product requirements, product and system development requirements, cost requirements, schedule requirements, quality requirements, production requirements, materiel requirements, verification requirements, qualification requirements, acceptance requirements, validation requirements and operational requirements.
The purpose of the system requirements capability is to enable and assure the abilities of the requirements of the system offering.
System Requirements Management
System requirements management is the system offering management of the system requirements capability.
The purpose of system requirements management is to enable and assure the management and abilities of the system requirements capabilities of the enterprise are controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
System Requirements Management Responsibilities
The system manager role is responsible for system requirements management of the system requirements capability.
System requirements management work products include system requirements management ideas, requirements, plans, risks, opportunities, reviews, decisions and action items.
System Requirements Architecture
The system requirements architecture is the system offering architecture of system requirements management of the system requirements capability.
The system manager role uses the system requirements architecture to support system requirements management responsibilities and activities.
The purpose of the system requirements architecture is to provide a management structure to enable and assure system requirements capability of the enterprise is controlled, balanced and aligned to the mission and needs of the enterprise as a whole.
The structure includes functional requirements, physical requirements, non-functional requirements, product requirements, product and system development requirements, cost requirements, schedule requirements, quality requirements, production requirements, materiel requirements, verification requirements, qualification requirements, acceptance requirements, validation requirements, and operational requirements.
System Requirements Architecture Responsibilities
The system architect role is responsible for architecting the system requirements architecture in support of the system requirements management responsibilities of the system manager role.
System requirements architecture work products include system requirements architecture concepts, descriptions, models, views, viewpoints, specifications and analyses. Specific examples are system requirements, requirement specifications, system constraints, system scenarios, system requirements verification traceability matrix, system requirements management database, user interface requirements, external interface requirements, operations requirements, operations procedures requirements, requirements models, requirements analyses, requirements traceability reports, requirement issues and verification test methods.
System Requirements Team
As shown in Figure 74 – System Requirements Team Concept, system requirements is interconnected with and interdependent on integration, data, configurations, records, information utilization and service requirements.
