The information technology (IT) capability system is the system element of the enterprise system capability which systematically functions to realize an IT capability.
The purpose of the IT capability system is to enable and assure the ability of IT capabilities.
As actions begin to realize the ability of an IT functionality, an IT capability is formed to satisfy the need to enable and assure the IT utilization of process and information produced by and used in the offerings and capabilities.
Over time, an IT capability is realized in a systematic ability controlled by IT capability management, the responsibility of the IT manager role.
The IT manager role is supported by the IT architect role and IT architecture.
